Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist used for weight loss and glycemic control. This peptide medication reduces appetite and causes you to feel full while slowing gastric and intestinal motility. Tirzepatide is an alternative to Semaglutide. In addition to being a GLP-1 receptor agonist, it is also a GIP (Gastric Inhibitory Polypeptide). While both Semaglutide and Tirzepatide support weight loss, some patients may experience heightened efficacy with one or the other.

 

For patients who may be sensitive to new medications, we also offer oral prescriptions of Semaglutide at lower doses to be taken daily. Although injections are typically more effective, this could be a more convenient option.

Dose increases are possible for both Semaglutide and Tirzepatide, however it is recommended to stay at the lowest effective dose to minimize possible side effects.
